Esfandiar Rahim Maschaie | Esfandiar Rahim-Mashai, ist ein iranischer Politiker. Im Kabinett Ahmadinedschad I war er Vizepräsident für Kultur und Tourismus. Im Juli 2009 wurde er kurzfristig als Erster Vizepräsident der Islamischen Republik Iran vorgeschlagen. Er gilt als enger Mitarbeiter, Freund und Berater des iranischen Präsidenten. Am 31. Dezember 2007 wurde er zum Leiter des neu gegründeten nationalen Zentrums für Globalisierungsforschung ernannt.[2] Seine Tochter ist mit dem Sohn des iranischen Präsidenten Mahmud Ahmadinedschad verheiratet. Esfandiar Rahim Mashaei; born 16 November 1960 in Ramsar is an influential Iranian politician. He is a top adviser, and close confidant of the Iranian President, whose Chief of Staff from 30 July 2009 to 9 April 2011. He has been described as a pragmatic, moderate Conservative with "liberal views on cultural and social issues", and a "Religious-Nationalist" who actively promotes nationalistic themes and ideas, and puts emphasis on Iran's pre-Islamic past, much to the disdain of the Islamic Republic's conservative establishment. He was for a short time First Vice President of Iran.
